The FRC Blog properly puts into perspective Richard Gere’s cheerleader-like dance with Indian sex workers who struggle daily with the threat AIDS: “600,000 prostitutes, 5.7 million with AIDS and Richard Gere sees the answer in condoms - which are not completely effective in stopping the spread of the disease and doesn’t stop other STDs?” “No condom, no sex. No condom, no sex. No condom, no sex,” Gere hollered into a microphone as about 10,000 prostitutes gathered at a dusty Mumbai fairground joined him in chorus, according to Reuters UK. There are so many things going wrong in this bizarre, made for Hollywood picture, that I’m not even sure where to begin. I’ll just leave the discernment up to individual readers. I wish people like Gere would stick to making movies. I loved The Mothman Prophecies, mainly because 90% of that movie was filmed in my hometown of Kittanning, Pennsylvania. Note to Gere: Stick to making movies, man. You make sense there (exceptions made for First Knight & Sommersby).
