The Creation Cycle: Indigenous Myths of the Americas
I have a huge and growing interest in Native Mexican Indian Tribes. Why? Well, my mother’s ethnic heritage is equal parts Native Mexican Indian (my grandfather) and Chamorro (my grandmother). My father is, for those of you wondering, Italian and German. I am still mystified as to what exactly my ethnicity should be called; should you come up with a proper name be sure to let me know. I will, until then, be forced to check that “other” box on applications and such. Read More »
Books Already Shelved and My Fuddruckers Money
So, I wrote a scathing review of a book titled Bible-Carrying Christians by David Watt. Too, I complained about the $55.00 in Fuddruckers money I spent on it. What happens? Watt e-mails me, agrees re: the Fuddruckers money, and offers me a refund if I send him the book. Awesome guy, that D. Watt. I do not, however, sell my books - not even the bad ones.
Simply Christian
Finally! I’m sitting down to partake of N.T. Wright’s Simply Christian.
Fun with Mint 07202007
Mint is an addictive little additive to web sites. Most stats programs that record visitor/referral information are loads of fun. Combing through referral links and search engine keywords can - and often does - lead to hours upon hours of silly entertainment. Sometimes it is also a bit frightening too! Some of those keywords and search terms are just downright embarrassing and seriously taboo. It is hard to believe anyone would even think up some of those wacky combinations, much less actually and willingly type them into Google. Read More »
The Final Live-Redesign of Lo-Fi Tribe is Now Complete
What probably will be the final re-design of Tribe is now complete. I needed a distraction for a few hours and as usual I found the joy that is rearranging Tribe to be more than distracting enough for me and my busy mind. So, it is done. I like it too. I’m really weary of the blog or blog-ish looking front page, and though the proverbial perimeter is limited in this medium, I tried to push as far up against it as my limited skills would let me. I like it. That’s what matters at the end of the hour. Read More »
Save Online Radio and Tune Into the TUN3R Feeling
There is no shortage of live Internet radio broadcasting sites and/or online radio tuners. They are practically a dime a dozen. A quick Google search will introduce you to more radios than you will ever actually use. They are plentiful, to be sure. They are also still in very serious danger as a result of The Copyright Royalty Board and their controversial 300 to 1,200 percent royalty rate hikes. These hikes could spell the end of online radio. The huge jump in royalty rates would devastate webcaster revenue and effectively bury independent artists. Congress will most likely decide the future of online radio, if it has not already been decided. Read More »
A Not So Random Life and Ministry Update 07172007
Rest is a good thing. I finished preaching two services this past Sunday at Manor Church, then took a break on Monday. It was a needed one. I was wiped out. I’m recharged and ready to get back to work! God is so good. Read More »
