Yes, the overall design of this blog took a radical shift over the course of three of four days. I have joined a growing number of people who are happily wandering away from the traditional blog display and are instead moving toward a mixed-media sort of publishing aka the “Tumblelog.” So, some posts appear in a dedicated style, depending upon their classification as regular posts, images, quotes, and/or video. I call this a “Tumble-Hybrid,” because it is part weblog, part Tumblelog, but neither. If that makes sense? I really want a log, rather than a weblog (or what weblogs have become).
So, Why did I make such a drastic change? Well, honestly it’s not so drastic. I mass deleted this blog last fall, and began over with a new goal that was focused upon the idea of pith. I was simply going to write pithy statements. You can look at the very first posts on this blog and see that direction clearly. So, the present re-design is not so drastic, given my earlier goal to write pith.
I am also becoming more interested in real-time and real-time relationships. I want to invest much more time in those relationships. My family and the church plant is requiring most of my time. I really don’t have time for a big, bloated, requirement heavy blog. I like pith; I like the idea of the Tumblelog. They both fit my present situation and meet some creative and practical needs.
So, Lo-Fi Tribe lives on and will continue to live on, but the scope and direction is shifting in favor of real-time and real-life relationships. Ministry demands it and I’m called and more than willing to oblige. I love it.
Tribe will have all sorts of neat posts and things added to it. So, do watch this space as it continues to evolve and grow.
