God Really is Loving Transformation

God is love. God’s story of redemption – or recreation - can be found in both Testaments of the Christian Bible. God’s loving re-creation first involves reconnection between the person and God. The Biblical narrative consistently portrays God as holy reconciler. God desires to enter into authentic individual and communal relationships with all people.

The long-suffering, patience, sacrifice, guidance, and loving austerity displayed in the Bible by God as God quests to relate intimately with all people is absurd and quite scandalous, at least for a god. Human history’s myriad of gods are not so relational or interpersonal, to say the least. God’s loving re-creation also involves the renewal and rebuilding of personal relationships on social, political, and religious levels. These re-created relationships actively transform the very structures upon which these three very human levels are founded. This transformation manifests from the inside and moves outward as the Kingdom of God tangibly manifests. The world and the people living in it are consequently transformed as God’s best plans for us all are realized individually and corporately.
