Our Annual Family Night before Christmas

Merry Christmas! It’s Christmas Eve! I happen to be a bigger fan of Christmas Eve than Christmas Morning. I’m not totally sure why this is, but I think it has to do with the family atmosphere that surrounds our Christmas Eve. It’s not that our Christmas Mornings aren’t wonderful; they are beyond wonderful! It’s just that Christmas Eve in our house is loaded with tangible expectation and annual family tradition. We load our family’s night before Christmas with more than a few family traditions. It’s great fun!

My son and I will tackle our traditional batch of homemade bread pudding; the girls and I will fix the tree angel to the top of our Christmas tree; my wife and I will put on some holiday sounds from Bing Crosby and the Vince Guaraldi Trio and then settle into a few classic Christmas movies. This - and other great stuff - is all part of our Christmas Eve. I think that’s why I prefer it to the morning.

PS. I am especially fond of the bread pudding!

Merry Christmas everyone! I pray you have a peace-filled and joyful time with family, friends, and neighbors! God’s blessings on you all!
