The Surrogates

With “inspired” voices like these is it any wonder that all ministers are lauded these days by those outside of the church? Then there is Geraldine Ferraro, who says what she says w/o attribution to divinity. That’s a plus!

Steve Brodner draws the candidates and their powerful but troublesome ties: Geraldine Ferraro, the Rev. John Hagee, and Jeremiah Wright. Directed by Gail Levin, with animation by Asterisk and camera by Ben Shapiro.

Shawn, I’m going to be posting on Monday about Dr. Wright and Obama … with links to his comments on YouTube. When they are seen in the full context of his sermons, suddenly they are not nearly as inflammatory or hateful as they seem in the soundbites that we’ve been seeing. In fact, one of them was a quote of a white ambassador who was in turn quoting either Elijah Mohammed or Malcom X.

The real culprit here appears to be Fox Media and in turn the rest of the media who follow them like slavering dogs without thought.

I agree re: Fox Media and the like … but even Obama has come out and dismissed his Rev’s remarks as wrong and divisive. So, I’m not sure context will salvage much of it. I do, however, look forward to your thoughts on it all.

But the interesting point Brodner makes in his sketch/movie has to do with the other candidates too. They have their own Rev. Wrights.
