D'Souza offers neither a predictable, nor a self-promoting spin in either article, at least not from my vantage point. So, I don;t think your review is all that dependable, to be honest. Indeed, there must be a response to anyone who so publicly and stridently asserts their views on religion, as Dawkins and Hitchens do, but the answer has to be equally measured and based on dispassionate analysis.
