Making Nanotechnology and Microscopic Text Fashionable
You can now take the entire bible with you at all times and wherever you go and avoid the conspicuous effects that accompany the carrying around of your giant-sized, bright red-covered, hardcover NRSV, thanks to Nano Bible™! There is one catch: you can’t actually read it, unless you have something handy that’ll read nanotechnology and microscopic text!
The Nano Bible is a small glass crystal coated with a thin layer of chromium, on which the entire Holy Bible has been reproduced in a microscopic size using nanotechnology.
It begs the question: how does one really know if the whole Bible is in there? Pesky questions like this aside, you do have a few different versions of the Nano Bible from which you can choose: The Original King James Bible (Protestant Bible), The Latina Vulgata Bible (Catholic Bible), The Original Septuagint Bible (Orthodox Bible).
Expelled: A New Documentary by Ben Stein

The fact that someone - anyone - is willing to take on big science and secular fundamentalists like Richard Dawkins is terrific, but the last person I would have pictured in this role is Ben Stein.
Stein, however, and in spite of his most recent gig as the host of VH1’s thankfully dormant America’s Most Smartest Model, may just be the man for the job!
Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed is a Michael Moore-ish kind of documentary that investigates, exposes, and challenges the assumptions, presumptions, presuppositions, biases, and academic/intellectual prejudices of the so-called “big science” and its blind fascination and devotion to the Neo-Darwinian materialism that is funneled into classrooms all over the country in suppressing fashion. Bill Maher Hates Religion! We Get it!
Bill Maher may lose his job over his most recent comments about the Catholic Church and the Pope. Can the comments he made on his HBO show be classified as hate speech? The people at Fire Bill Maher think so. It seems more likely that Bill is just trying to cash in on the book buying crowd faithfully following authors like Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris. Bill is, after all, an advisory board member of Harris’s The Reason Project.

Abrams’ Thought Concerning Deconstruction
A quick and informative article about the life of American literary critic M.H. Abrams (includes a really short but sharp statement re: deconstruction):
Through the 1970s and 80s, he sorted through and questioned new schools of literary theory like deconstruction and theorists like Stanley Fish and Jacques Derrida, whom he found compelling but disagreed with. He adds, “I’ve been skeptical from the beginning of attempts to show that for hundreds of years people have missed the real point,” his chief quarrel with contemporary theory.
An Online Bible and Opportunity for Global Collaboration

YouVersion bills itself as a revolutionary online community! And it just may be! Its revolutionary potential finds a catalyst in the fact that it is a community built totally around the Bible and conversations about the Bible. YouVersion is a community built around the idea that online collaboration and interactive sharing can actually change the way we interact with the texts and one another in important ways. YouVersion is the epitome of “Open Source” theology and Biblical study. If there was ever a sign of the global decentralization of Biblical interpretation, this is it. Said differently, the work of Biblical interpretation has been freed from the ivory - and stale - towers of academia. The reformers would be amazed! This ‘aint the 16th century no more!
This is not your run-of-the-mill pew Bible. It’s not just another online Bible either. This is a fully interactive Bible that features 16 translations and community collaboration! The community collaboration is the most important feature of this virtual Bible. Users can add notes, commentary, stories and help decide if what others have added is relevant to the text to which it was added. Basically, this is an open source commentary that evolves, grows, and corrects itself in community. It is truly remarkable. Read More »

Marriage Adds Seven Hours of Work to Women
A new Institute for Social Research study says that marriage results in seven more hours of work per week for women; men save an hour. No matter how you spin it, it’s not right. And your Calvinism is not an excuse!
The article does say that “men tend to work more outside the home,” as if that is justification, but don’t women work outside the home too!
Also note that “situation gets worse for women when they have children!”
