Concerning the following excerpt, may I just say, “Hallelujah!”
We measure the value of our Pastor on whether they can keep us awake for an hour on Sunday morning. We haveĀ put this enormous pressure on their shoulders to entertain us. That’s why you see so many churches switching to the video and media format. Churches are being driven by the pursuit of technology in order to retain their customers. That’s not a typo.
I suggest that you read the original post - So You Don’t Want to Go to Church Anymore - in its entirety @ Rechurched.
Just wanted to tell you guys that I read the article in the Intel this last weekend about what is happening with IMG. I work with a local church and a couple of us were talking about how syched we were for what you guys were doing.
Keep questioning and keep reforming.
I love it when I see connections between discussions happening on two unconnected blogs. I was just beginning to read Alan Knox’s latest post on how to encourage the whole congregation to engage in hermeneutics when I saw this post.
